What is a College Paper?

Format and Length:

Staple an 8 ½ × 11 white title page at the front of paper.

The title should be in the center of the page. It should be only in quotation marks if it is a quotation. It should not be underlined unless it is a published work. The lower right side should have name, date along with name and number of the class.

There should be no repetition of title page on the first page. Always start the text at the top of the page. No blank spaces at beginning or end of the paper should be there. Prevent padding with empty sheets on either side.

The paper should be typed and there should be double spacing. Double spacing gives enough space to write critical views on your mistakes. We can easily detect triple or even 2 ½ spacing. So don’t try to be smart.

The pages should be numbered at the top right to leave space of comments. Standard margins are an inch and a quarter on the sides, an inch and a half top and bottom.

The paper length is an important part of the assignment worth considering. When it is asked to submit an assignment of two or three pages, it should not end up at one page. A few of teachers discourage extra-length papers. Precise learning is an essential part of learning to write.
