Reflective Essay Writing

Reflective essays sometimes remind an hour spent in the psychiatrist’s chair. I don’t mean that morally unstable people write them. But before writing a reflective essay you need to be sure that there is something interesting, touching, shocking or teaching that you can tell to your readers. Reflective essays oblige you to look deep into yourself, find a moment in your life that you remembered, bring it out second by second, evaluate it and give out to the readers.

My advice is – do not write about something that happens on the ordinary basis even if for you it was new and exciting. One of the examples is the first kiss. No matter how flattering you felt, here is bitter statistics – 99 per cent of first kissed people felt the same, so there is nothing you can surprise them with.

Or, if you do chose to devote your persuasive essay to the first kiss, become a good psychiatrist. Look deep inside of you and bring out the true emotions that those 99 per cent of your reflective essay readers will be able to recognize and support.

You and your emotions – this is what should be brought forward in a reflective essay. No matter which experience you chose to talk about – sad or happy – be sincere till the very end. Remember that your reflective essays talk about past. And past requires some ability to evaluate and draw conclusions. Share the lesson learned with the readers and he will be grateful for a perfect reflective essay.
